This is one of my FAVORITE ways to teach growth mindset - the concept of “yet” is one that students can easily grasp and apply.

And it’s so fun to make it a part of your classroom by…

🌟Modeling this when you’re demonstrating new skills: “I can’t figure this problem out YET…”
🌟Having the poem or just the word “Yet” displayed prominently in the classroom as a visual reminder for students
🌟Encouraging students to say “I don’t get this… YET” (trust me, if you start celebrating this, it will catch on!)

2. Candy Heart Incentive Chart: Help students stay motivated this week! Every day they do a great job reveals a candy heart with a message. When all the hearts are filled in, they’ve earned a Valentines celebration or treat!

3. Kindness Challenge: Every day, students pick a heart with a random act of kindness. When they finish their kind act, they add their heart to the display!

4. Friendly Notes: have students write notes to each other with kind things to say!

5. Kindness Chain: add a link to your chain for every kind act you see students do during the week!
